We have an active program of Christian education for children, youth, and adults at TPPC. For a complete update on Christian education programs for children and adults, call the church office at 301-270-5550 or send an email to one of the email addresses below.
Sunday School for children from preschool through the 6th grade is held
between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. each Sunday morning during the regular school year.
Many terrific activities are planned for the entire year. In addition to learning about traditional Bible stories, Sunday School students will perform several community service projects, act in plays, create works of art, make new friends, and have a great time - guaranteed!
There is also an emphasis in the church school on becoming a community of caring people and reaching out in mission. Lots of sandwiches for the hungry have been made by church school classes. Recently, the children participated in the Annual Help the Homeless Walkathon at Silgo Creek Park.
In addition to Sunday School, there is a "time with children" segment in the worship service. Children from pre-K through 1st grade can leave after this for a special worship service designed for young children, and older children (from 2nd through 5th grade) can go to our children's choir rehersal.
Christian education classes for junior and senior high students are also held between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings during the regular school year.
High School (grades 9-12) Sunday School will study the Our Whole Lives Curriculum for this school year. More information on the curriculum is available from this website.

Adult Sunday School meets in the church parlor from September to May, also from 9:30 to 10:45. Previous topics have included studying the books of Genesis, Exodus, John and Mark, exploring the Isaiah texts which inspired Handel's Messiah, taking a journey through the Psalms, participating in a DVD-based program called "Living the Questions", and using models such as the the African Bible study model to help church members explore their own spirituality.
Join the Adult Education class for a 12-week program featuring preeminent New Testament scholars Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan on location in Turkey, Greece, and Italy, tracing the Apostle Paul's footsteps throughout the Roman Empire.
Using a DVD and study guide, we will explore fresh insights into Paul’s message of the Kingdom of God, its challenge to Roman imperial theology, and the apostle's radical relevance for today.
All are welcome. For more information on adult Sunday School at TPPC, contact adulted@takomaparkpc.org.
